Along the Tiber River

Personified by the ancient Romans as a majestic old man crowned with laurel holding a cornucopia, the Tiber river nourished Rome for centuries. The reputation as a great river is questionable but it does hold many cherished memories and on either side of it, one finds some of the greatest monuments in Rome.
