Guest Speaker Series presents Pontormo and Pan di Ramerino

Food expert and Art Historian, Elaine Trigiani will talk about the mannerist painter Pontormo and some of his Medici family commissions including the luscious frescoes for their villa at Poggio a Caiano and his last work, done for the Medici family church of San Lorenzo in Florence.   

Pontormo kept a diary which detailed his progress on paintings, the weather and various physical ailments. He also painstakingly recorded what he and his friends ate and drank. We will take a page out of his book and learn to make a recipe typical to 1500s Tuscany that is still appreciated today:  Pan di Ramerino - rosemary bread (or you can say  rosemary buns )
