The Art and Craft of the Medieval Book

Professor and book artist Patricia Silva will introduce us to the world of Medieval book production.

From lusciously decorated prayer books and Bibles, to the more utilitarian books of scholarly study,

to books of quotidian use such as account books and books of remembrances, Ms. Silva will

highlight, in a richly illustrated presentation, the materials, techniques and curiosities of

bookmaking in the middle ages in Europe.
